In March 2010 the Engineering Service Provider GIF - Gesellschaft für Industrieforschung mbH - headquartered in Alsdorf, Germany - established "GIF Japan K.K." in Tokyo. Up to now GIF was represented in the countries Germany, China and America with private companies. With the dedication of a Japanese location GIF affirmed its global orientation. GIF Japan supports its clients on site with an own sales and support organisation.

The new office is managed by Takashi Shimizu in Tokyo, as well as Michael Weiß and Dr. Jan Schlipf in Alsdorf, Germany. Mr. Shimizu operated the last years at the GIF-headquarter in Germany and represents in particular the field sales of GIF Japan. Mr. Weiß, an experienced GIF-project manager, inherits the field technique. In Tokyo three Japanese employees work initially for GIF.

"To be successful in Japan, a tight customer support is necessary. GIF Japan offers us to develop good contacts socialised by long-time projects and to save our independence", informs Dr. Jan Schlipf, president of GIF Japan K.K. and general manager of GIF mbH.

GIF Japan profits of the nearly 25 years old experience of the world wide biggest service provider for independent transmission development with 500 employees and 120 powertrain test benches.
