On April 24th 37 girls of the grades 7 to 10 looked behind the scenes of GIF in Alsdorf and Aachen, Germany and sampled very directly different job possibilities. On the occasion of the nationwide "Girls'Day - Girls' Day of the future" coeds of the region had been invited to the company.

After a short presentation held by General Manager Dr. Jan Schlipf the coeds were divided into different groups and were enlightened about the safety guidelines. 14 employees adopted the girls and guided them into different domains. After an introduction they were allowed to start working. Among technical duties like wheel change or assembling of a circuit board they did some exercises at the computer. These exercises included amongst others CAD works and the programming of shift robots.

As the highlight the coeds were driven on the 825m test track which is certified for pass-by-noise measurements for passenger cars and HGV. Although many girls hesitated to participate in the tour at the beginning because of the steep turns, all of them were driven several times on the test track and they persuaded the drivers to drive more often than intended.

In the closing event all the girls sorrowed that the Girls'Day passed so quickly and were happy that the contact persons explained everything so comprehensible. Their result: "It was very excellent!"
