Two renowned transmission
consultant companies headquartered in Alsdorf/Germany and Nottingham/UK
have announced that they are forming a strategic partnership to jointly
work on turnkey transmission design, development and testing projects.
With their combined 35 years of experience on state of the
art transmission engineering consultancy work they complement each
other's strengths, specifically on transmission design, simulation
software, prototyping and transmission rig and in-vehicle testing.
With more than 80 test cells, GIF is the leader in independent
powertrain and transmission testing, while Romax Technology has
developed Ro-maxDesigner, the industry-leading virtual product design
software for trans-missions.
For customers worldwide, the GIF-Romax brand will provide an
integrated solution for the design and development of complete
transmission projects. With their combined resources, they are able to
handle even larger and more complex projects.
"We are extremely happy that GIF has chosen to work with Romax as a
partner. With this agreement in place we hope to develop a range of
integrated and intelligent design, simulation and test solutions that
will deliver compressed lead times and reduced costs compared to the
traditional ‘over-the-wall’ development methods" said Dr. S.Y. Poon,
Managing Director of Romax Technology Ltd.
"We are excited to have found ROMAX as our new partner and have
high expectations on our joint future business. The two companies are
absolutely complementary in their core technologies and also have very
similar ‘esprit des corps’. With the joint experience and combined
resources we will be able to offer much more complex turn key
transmission and driveline projects from concept development up to
design and production verification. This will give us a competitive
edge and offer an added value to our customers" stated Rolf Laufs,
Managing Director of GIF.
